I hope everyone is having a great 2019 so far. Mine has been particularly lazy after a busy end of year. 2019 is also the first time I’ve ever had MLK off, which only adds to the total laziness of my year. I have lots of best-of-2018 lists here because everyone loves best-of lists. Plus lots of memes.
As always, if you know anyone that would like to subscribe, please send them to YeeHaw.io.

HANG(ING ON) GLIDING (Video) - I once went paragliding and it was wonderful and I somehow felt safe the entire time. This video is of a dude with a different experience when hang gliding. The flight time was only 2.5 minutes and (SPOILER) everyone is ok, but that doesn’t make this video any less intense.
BEST PODCAST EPISODES OF 2018 (Link) - Looking for some new entertainment during your commute, workouts, or while crushing those spreadsheets? This list of the best 50 individual podcast episodes of 2018. There is a huge variety of suggestions here so you are bound to find some that strike your interest.
BEST INVENTIONS OF 2018 (Link) - This is an interesting Best-of… list. Popular Science lists their 100 greatest inventions of 2018 in categories that include entertainment, gadgets, home, health, and others. The list includes everything from a jet suit with 1,000 horsepower and 8 minutes of flight time to post-its that stick to any surface.
GOPRO’s BEST OF 2018 (YouTube Link) 3:45 - GoPro’s annual year-in-review videos are always short and really fun to watch. There are a lot of talented people doing cool stuff that I forget about until I watch one of these. Especially with the improvements in the camera and software quality, there are plenty of amazing closeup shots worth checking out in the video.
BEST NFL CELEBRATIONS OF 2018 (Link) - A year ago, the NFL relaxed its rules on celebrations. The result was NFL players flexing their creativity and a new trend in group celebrations after touchdowns. This New York Times article lists out the more popular celebrations. My favorites came from the Bears and the Vikings. If any of the links to videos are broken, you can watch them on the YouTube link in the article.
A SUPER FUN READ (Amazon Link) $9.99 - I recently read Watchmen by Alan Moore (also known for V for Vendetta and others). This has been on my to-do list since college, which gives you a sense of how much of a procrastinator I can be. The 12 books (each is a very quick read) cover the story of a group of retired crime fighters, and their complicated personal lives, as they band together when they individually fall under attack. Released in the late 80s, the mature story includes plenty of commentary on social and political issues while mocking the superhero concept. Watchmen is argued to be one of the best graphic novels of all time. If, like me, you have few of these reads under your belt, this wouldn’t be a bad place to start. Also, in 2009 there was a feature film (imdb link) and, this year, HBO (link) is creating a new show based on the graphic novel.
MUSIC - When I was working on my 80s new wave playlist that I mentioned in YeeHaw 8, I also started working on an 80s power ballad playlist. I really wanted to find a group of songs similar to Total Eclipse of the Heart. All of these songs remind me of those we listened to when I was a kid in my mom’s giant conversion van, which served as inspiration of the title of this playlist. Let me know what you think.
