I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I am recovering from a multi-day food coma. I hope you all had more self control than I did.

TOP 2018 SCUBA PHOTOGRAPHY - (Article link) Scuba Diving magazine runs a contest each year for the best photos in various categories. This article shows all of the winning images, narrowed down from 2,100 submissions. The article gives insight into how each photographer was able to capture their winning pics. (13 photos)
SCARIEST TV SHOW EVER - The older I get, the fewer people I meet that enjoy scary movies. For the few that do, I highly recommend The Haunting at Hill House. Through 10 episodes, this series will certainly spook you. This is way scarier than any other tv show I’ve seen. If you have already seen it, check out this article on all of the hidden ghosts that you probably missed.
HOW CIA SPIES USE DISGUISES - (YouTube link) This video from Wired walkthrough many of the strategies and tactics that the CIA uses to disguise its agents, which includes how to disguise walking styles, eating habits, and other subtle tells, and stay undercover. (9:24)
AN ALTERNATIVE VOTING SYSTEM - (Podcast link) This Radiolab episode explores an innovative voting system currently used in Ireland. This system creates a way for each vote to count otwards one of the final two candidates in races with many. It is an interesting attempt to be more representative, more moderate, and more civil. Check it out to find out more. (1-hour)
HOW YOUR BODY PROCESSES FOOD TYPES - (Article) Now that I have stuffed my face over the past few days with turkey, dressing, macaroni and cheese, sweet potato soufflé, deserts and other carby things, I am going to try to go healthy before doing it all over again for Christmas. This article is a good piece that breaks down what happens when your body processes carbs, fat, and protein to help prioritize certain food types based on your diet objectives.
HOW TO FIND THE CHEAPEST INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS - (Article) I look at cheap flights every day. I have read numerous articles on how to find deals but they all say the same thing…be flexible, signup for certain credit cards, etc…nothing very helpful. A couple weeks ago I came across this article and it has changed how I look for flights. One of their tips…get a VPN and set your IP location to a country with a relatively low cost of living. Your search results will likely be cheaper than what you see in the US. I have tested this and found flights about 33% cheaper than the comparable US flights.
MY FAVORITE ATHLETIC APPAREL - (Rhone website) I am always looking for comfortable workout clothes, especially those that fit and look how I want. Recently while at REI, I tried a few articles from Rhone, a premium men’s athletic apparel company, and now it is all I am asking for this holiday season. I have tried some of their shorts and shirts and they are, by far, the most comfortable clothes I own. For workouts/runs, they are great in terms of comfort and breathability. They dry fast and, so far, are very durable. Aside from their comfort, all shorts/pants have the perfect number of pockets, with secure places for your phone, wallet, or whatever else you would carry on your way to/from the gym. This gear also doubles well as travel attire. On a recent trip for a week, I used a single pair of shorts for the entire trip and they performed as well as I could have imagined. The only downside is that their stuff is expensive. But you likely can find some 20-30% off coupons online and they occasionally run sales. I size down with their shirts (normally wear a medium but I wear a small with Rhone), but their shorts are true to what I normally buy.
MUSIC - A couple of playlists:
Outkast Greatest Hits - Earlier this year I decided to revisit Outkast. I listened to their hits growing up but never appropriately checked out their discography. I finally learned what all the hype was about. In my naive opinion, they are the greatest hiphop act of all time. So I created a playlist of my favorite songs. My tops picks are Chonkyfire and Slump.
YeeHaw 9 - I got 19 songs here of some of the newer stuff I have liked. The Richard Swift songs are really universally likable. Check those out. Kero Kero Bonito, Spiritualized, and BROCKHAMPTON all have good new albums and I included a sampling in this playlist…plus many more.
MEMES - Some laughs…
